Entry deadline is January 18th 2019.

Qualification period for all entries is 1st January 2018 – 31st December 2018.

There are three types of categories available to enter, based on People, Companies and Shows, covering organisers, suppliers and venues, and the entry procedure could not be simpler.

Step 3) Fill out the form, attaching any supplementary information

Step 4) Email the submission to enawards@mashmedia.net by January 18th 2019

A carefully selected panel of industry judges will be casting their votes in the new year…

Companies may enter multiple categories but please adhere to the length criteria as overly lengthy entries may be discounted.

EN Pioneer Award

The exhibition industry is full of inspiring entrepreneurs who have helped us get to where we are today. These individuals are innovative, risky and brave, trust their intuition, possess incredible foresight, exude self-belief and most of all, have a will to succeed. The winner of the Exhibition News Pioneer Award has displayed all of these qualities and opened the door to tomorrow’s world, while growing our industry and others to the benefit of all.

NB this is not open for nomination and will be decided by the Editor of EN

 

People Awards

Best Newcomer
Every company should have a team member who has shown incredible promise and quickly made themselves irreplaceable. This award recognises the importance of attracting new talent into our industry. The Best Newcomer award is open to individuals who have been in the events industry for less than three years and have been in full-time employment for less than five years.

Judges are looking to reward one show director working across trade and/or consumer shows who has demonstrated outstanding achievement, creativity and professional growth during 2018. Company Awards

Event Tech of the Year

This award recognises the ever-increasing and crucial role that technology plays in delivering events today. The award honours those individuals and businesses that have pushed the boundaries of innovation to develop and provide products and solutions that improve the overall effectiveness of an event, enhance the visitor experience or advance the behind-the-scenes organisation and planning. The winner could be from an organiser, venue or supplier involved in the delivery of the tech, or a combination of two or more, all parties will be recognised.

The Best Supplier to Exhibitors award underscores one company that has helped exhibitors meet their objectives and achieve ROI from their show presence and demonstrated outstanding customer service.

Best Supplier to Organisers

Without the support of contractors, exhibitions simply wouldn’t function. This award shines a light on one exhibition supplier providing exhibition-related goods and services to the organiser community. The judges will look for examples where suppliers have gone beyond their day-to-day job to help one or more organisers run events successfully during 2018, shown innovation and demonstrated excellence.

Best International Venue

With so many UK organisers now actively operating in venues outside their home territory, this award will highlight one large exhibition venue outside of the UK with 10,000sqm or more floor space well suited to major international exhibitions. Judges will be looking for ways in which the venue has worked with organisers to deliver outstanding results for internationally focused events and invested in improving their facilities.

Best Venue Under 8,000sqm

This award will honour one UK venue with up to 8,000sqm of exhibition space that hosted exhibitions in 2018. The winner of Best Venue under 8,000sqm will demonstrate a proactive relationship with organisers on successful exhibitions, be able to demonstrate investment into their venue offering, and chalked up significant financial and business growth.

Best Venue Over 8,000sqm

This award will reward the hard efforts of one large UK venue hosting exhibitions during 2018. The winner will demonstrate a proactive relationship with organisers on a plethora of successful exhibitions, invested in their venue offering in 2018 and chalked up significant financial and business growth.

The CSR Award

Corporate Social Responsibility has become essential to all businesses looking to have positive impacts on their staff, community, environment, customers and commercial results. This award will recognise the company which can demonstrate the most positive CSR scheme and results. This is open to all companies to enter.

Best Use of Social Media

It’s unthinkable to imagine event marketing without social media and so this award reflects the essential role that it plays in today’s marketing mix. This award will recognise the most effective social media campaigns of 2018 that can demonstrate successful results achieved by originality and audience engagement.

The Indy Award (Independent Organiser of the Year)

Exhibition organisers come in all sizes so, EN wants to specifically recognise brilliance among the smaller and more specialist companies. This reward is open to exhibition organisers who turn over less than £5million but who have shown inventiveness, creativity, growth and endeavour alongside outstanding shows.

NB this can either be a specialist exhibition organiser or a larger company within which exhibitions account for less than £5 million turnover. Financial evidence may be required.

Best Organiser Association Partnership

A new award for 2019, this category is open to any organiser that has worked successfully in partnership with a professional association to produce an exhibition held in the UK during 2018. Organisers will be assessed on their ability to achieve successful outcomes in terms of balancing commercial objectives with the association’s needs, creating membership value and supporting the association’s code of conduct , demonstrating visitor and exhibitor growth and diversification, observance of best practice and demonstrating a genuine partnership of real value to both parties to future-proof the collaboration and ensure longevity of the event.

Best Consumer Show Marketing Campaign

Whether in print, digital, outdoor or experiential (or a combination of all of these), a well-conceived, integrated marketing campaign is crucial to the success and perceptions of your business. Best Feature Area


A great feature area on the show floor can leave a lasting impression – not just on visitors but on exhibitors too, and to inspire other organisers and suppliers. This unique award acknowledges the collaborative nature of a successful feature, utilising the creativity of both the organising team and suppliers providing the desired solution. Organisers or suppliers can nominate themselves for this award and both parties will be recognised.

Best Brand Expansion

This award will recognise an organiser that has diversified its exhibition above and beyond its original brief into new territories, avenues or channels in 2018. The winner of the Best Brand Expansion award will have successfully replicated their brand either internationally or in the UK, launched sister or co-located events, or extended their exhibition brand into other media avenues and complementary commercial opportunities. Judges will be looking for excellence, innovation, commercial success and longevity.

Show Rising Star

As part of EN’s efforts to encourage more organisers to develop shows in the UK, this award will reward one organiser that has either launched a show, or held the second edition of their consumer or trade exhibition during 2018.

Best Consumer Show

Consumers are increasingly demanding interactivity and innovation from live events, raising the standard and quality of exhibitions in the UK. The Best Consumer Show Award recognises one show that has met the consumer challenge by delivering a superb visitor experience, backed up by creative marketing initiatives, year-on-year success, a competitive edge, originality and commercial growth.

The most hotly contested of all EN Awards every year, this category is open to any trade exhibition held in the UK during 2018. Organisers will be assessed on their ability to meet show objectives, produce innovative content and marketing campaigns, record improvements in commercial performance, demonstrate visitor and exhibitor attendance growth and diversification, and the show’s longevity.
