A Message From Us...
We at Mash Media, our venue and suppliers are all eager and very much ready to host the Exhibition News Awards on 9th October 2020, but we are not prepared to do so if it diminishes the awards experience that you have come to know and love and so we are setting a new date of 5th February 2021.
Recognition and celebration is what we all need right now, but the awards signifies something much more important, it will give us a template and new starting point in which we can kick start awards in a face-to-face environment and not just with confidence but with style! When the EN Awards goes ahead, it must remain a high-quality event, and no compromises should be made when rewarding the hard-earned expertise of the exhibitions industry. You can still book tickets with confidence and if you know of someone who has been made redundant, then they can buddy with your pass and get a 50% discount for their booking, as part of Mash Media’s COVID-19 relief support pledge. They can contact Duncan Siegle to claim the discount.
Why we made this call
As you may know, our operations team attended two of the recent pilot events that were proposed to Government and although the process is moving forward, we are still awaiting feedback from the government. With this in mind and the recent Government announcement, it gave us two options; commit to running the live event that would be wildly different in format and most definitely not a party, or host it online. There is no doubt online is a way forward and has underpinned all our efforts to support our communities throughout the most testing of times, and we at Mash will continue to deliver education and news in exciting new online platforms also, but for us and our community, it’s not the right format for the awards.
"We stand with at the forefront of the industry's efforts to get back to live safely and have our sights set on the first Friday after any dry January efforts. In the mean time you have our commitment to keep you updated through Exhibition News Magazine (subscribe here) and Confex Newsletters (sign up here)" - Duncan Siegle, Portfolio Director
